Introduction
You can export the test cycle and test execution details in Excel, Word, and PDF. The test execution details are useful as a document for audit purposes and as a report to dig out failure causes. For example,
An organization is required to store the execution details down to step level including execution result, timestamp, and tester name on the document management system for auditors to review.
QA Manager wants to see a report to check the test steps due to which the test case has failed.
It is helpful to organizations that follow strict compliance and review processes in the following ways:
The test cases and test cycles are reviewed by internal and external teams to verify the scope before executions are performed.
The test cases, test cycles, and test executions are submitted for review to functional users across different teams at the customer's end for sign-off.
The exported documents serve as evidence during the review process internally and externally.
Users who do not have access to Jira can access the documents for review for audits and compliance purposes.
You can export test execution details from:
Test Cycle List View
Test Execution Screen
Export Test Execution Details from Test Cycle List View
You can export the test execution details directly from the test cycle list view without opening the test execution screen.
Steps
1. Open the Test Cycle list view.
2. Hover over the test cycle the execution details of which you want to export.
3. Click on the Export icon.
Note: A maximum of 10,000 test case executions can be exported.
Note: The maximum attachment size for export is 500 MB.
Defects linked to test cases and steps execution: If this option is selected, the export will include the defects logged during the execution of the test cases.
Stories directly linked to test cases and test cycles: If this option is selected, the export will include stories that are directly linked to test cases and test cycles.
Configure Logo
You can configure the organization or preferred logo from the Export Test Execution Details screen.
Click on the Configure Logo link at the top-right corner. It navigates you to Configuration > Configure Logo. Read more about Configure Logo.
