Introduction

Generally, the test executions are conducted against an environment/platform. Users can create a repository of environments under QMetry > Configurations. While executing Test Cycles, the Environment list is populated from the Environment repository.

QMetry has an inbuilt System Default environment as 'No Environment'. By default, 'No Environment' is selected as the environment on Test Cycles.

Jira Permissions: Browse Project permissions are required.

QMetry Permissions :

  • If Enabled then the below permissions are required.

    • Configuration View

    • Configuration Modify

Use case: Your testing process needs an environment like Opera browser to execute some test cases from execution.

Adding an Environment

Users should have 'Configuration modify' access to the project before creating an environment for their test assets.

Steps:

  1. Go to QMetry menu > Configuration > Select your Project.

  2. Under Test Execution select Environment.

  3. Enter the new environment name and its relevant description. Click Add.

Required Permission: Users should have the Configuration Modify permission to change the Sort By preference of list values.

Changing the Sequence Number

You can change the list value sequence by editing the number in the Sequence No. column.
