Search Test Cases

You can use the search feature to locate the required test case(s) in the current project. The multiple value Search feature is available for Keys, Summary, Description, Precondition, Attachment Name, Comments, Test Step, and custom fields with Number Field and Text Field type in the Test Case module.

The search will occur in the latest version of test cases of the same project. The set search preference gets preserved for the user. The user can modify the search preferences anytime afterward.

Shareable test cases can be searched only on Test Step, as they do not contain Description and Precondition.

Use Case: Testers want to search test cases with a specific word within the Test Case Key, Test Summary, Description, Precondition, and Test Step of the test case. When the project includes a large number of test cases, the feature helps testers locate the required test cases quickly with a particular text.

Search a Test Case Key

You can search a single test case key by entering the key in the search box. This option searches mentioned Key with the “Contains” clause. It filters records using partial keyword matches.

Note: A maximum of 200 Keys can be searched at a time.
